Over the next few weeks, we are going to focus on ways that we can turn “Happy Holidays" into “Joyful Holy Days."  This begins with focusing our thoughts on the true meaning of Christmas and directing them toward a Christ focus  Retailers of all sorts are frantically slashing prices on their merchandise to entice consumers to buy more stuff, to get more goodies.

Everywhere we turn this time of year, we hear about the importance of gift-giving, or gift-buying.  Society tells us that it would not be Christmas without gifts.  In truth, from the beginning of Christmas celebrations, gift giving has been a part of the season. The Wise Men gave out of their treasures to celebrate the birth of the king.  These Gentiles came to pay their respects to this baby who would change the world.  They may not have understood everything, but they knew they needed to come and worship at the feet of this little king.
