Dawn Taylor - Minister of Music and
Church Ministries

Born in Salem,
Virginia, Dawn felt the call to ministry during her
senior year of high school. After attending Virginia
Western Community College for 2 years, God’s call
led her to Averett College in Danville, Virginia.
She graduated from Averett in 2000 and headed out
west to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. She received a Master
of Music degree from Southwestern in 2003. Aside
from music ministry, Dawn has led in many areas of
children’s ministry. She is a certified AWANA
commander and club leader for the Truth and Training
and Junior Varsity clubs.
Dawn enjoys watching college basketball, playing
golf, cooking, oil painting, going to the gym, and
spending time with her friends and family.
Dawn is married to SSgt James Taylor, an
active-duty member of the United States Marine Corps. |

My name is Sam Rabon
and I was born in Charleston, SC,
(I love books and Christian CDs just in case you're
interested!). I graduated from Furman University (go
Paladins!) in Greenville, SC in 1991 with a BA in
Sociology. Afterwards, I spent the next phase of my
life in the restaurant business. God called me into
vocational service for him in the fall of 2004. : I began studying at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (no mascot!) in Wake Forest, NC in the fall of 2005, and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in Student Ministry. God called me to
the ministry here at Heritage in May of 2005. He has
given me a passion for teenagers to see them come to
know him and to shepherd them into a lifelong
commitment to loving the Lord! |

Originally from California, Cathleen and her husband, Mike, moved to Farmville
in 2008. Cathleen and Mike enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with their
3 grown children.
She loves to crochet, and all of us at HBC are happy to
welcome her to our staff.
