Born in Salem,
Virginia, Dawn felt the call to ministry during her
senior year of high school. After attending Virginia
Western Community College for 2 years, God’s call
led her to Averett College in Danville, Virginia.
She graduated from Averett in 2000 and headed out
west to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. She received a Master
of Music degree from Southwestern in 2003. Aside
from music ministry, Dawn has led in many areas of
children’s ministry. She is a certified AWANA
commander and club leader for the Truth and Training
and Junior Varsity clubs.
Dawn enjoys watching college basketball, playing
golf, cooking, oil painting, going to the gym, and
spending time with her friends and family. |

My name is Sam Rabon
and I was born in Charleston, SC,
(I love books and Christian CDs just in case you're
interested!). I graduated from Furman University (go
Paladins!) in Greenville, SC in 1991 with a BA in
Sociology. Afterwards, I spent the next phase of my
life in the restaurant business. God called me into
vocational service for him in the fall of 2004. I
began studying at Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary (no mascot!) in Wake Forest, NC in the fall
of 2005, where I am currently working on a Masters
of Divinity in Student Ministry. God called me to
the ministry here at Heritage in May of 2005. He has
given me a passion for teenagers to see them come to
know him and to shepherd them into a lifelong
commitment to loving the Lord! |

Angie Durden is our new Interim Director.
Currently Angie is a member of Heritage Baptist Church and serves as our Nursery
Coordinator. She and her family have lived in Farmville since September of 2006.
Angie holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University and a Master of
Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Angie has worked in churches in the Atlanta, Georgia area as Minister of
Preschool and Children at Crabapple First Baptist Church and Minister of
Children at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church for over 10 years. The three past
years, she has stayed home with her two young children. |

Devin Williams is our new Interim Assistant Director. Devin is from Skipwith,
Virginia where she graduated from Kenston Forest School. She is studying
Elementary Education at Longwood where she is currently a junior. One day, she
wants to own her own Daycare Center. In the past 3 years, she has worked in a
Daycare Center, worked for MOPS, and directed Vacation Bible School at her
church. Devin has volunteered on Wednesday nights in our children classrooms
where our children, parents and co-workers just love her. |

Originally from Prospect, VA, Rebecca and her husband, Wes, live in Rice, VA and
are members of Glen Memorial Baptist Church. After graduating from Longwood
University in May 2008, Rebecca joined the ministry team at Heritage Baptist
Church in September 2008. She enjoys walking, shopping, reading, and spending
time with Wes and their Westie Terrier, Turbo.
